ARRL Field Day

June 22 @ 1:00 pm June 23 @ 3:00 pm

Held annually on the fourth weekend in June, ARRL Field Day is an opportunity for WC-ARES to hold a communications exercise and contest with groups and individuals around the country and the world. Operators set up in parks, fields, operations centers and their backyards. WC-ARES will be setting up our trailers and go-kits, deploying our assets and testing our emergency preparedness.

Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

More info about the event is available at www.arrl.org/field-day. For more info on WC-ARES plans, please check out the #fd-2024 channel on Slack.
